The Arts at AIS

AIS is constantly excited by our vibrant Arts scene. On top of regular Visual Art and Music classes during the school day, AIS provides multiple opportunities for students to express themselves through various art mediums. We have musicals, instrumental lessons, concerts and a wide selection of after school activities. Besides this we attend music festivals with selected students from AIS who represent our school in Korea and even abroad.

Musicals

AIS has performed a number of musicals. Most recently Mulan Jr. Students worked together and will tell the tale of how Mulan disguises herself as a man to take her father's place in the battlefield. On her journey she is joined by a small dragon named Mushu. Mushu wants to become a guardian and transform Mulan into a war hero. It's a Musical that shows perseverance, endurance, resilience and also humour.
When we put on musicals, the students, staff and community comes together - it is the only to put on such shows.
Previous musicals have included The Blue Crystal, Time Dame and Peter Pan.

Instrumental Lessons

AIS is pleased to offer students the opportunity to sign up for individual instrumental instruction. Instrumental lessons are provided by excellent external tutors, selected by our Music teacher.  We offer a range of instruments such as drums, piano, guitar, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, violin, cello, clarinet, flute and saxophone. Payment is required for this tuition however the value is excellent when one considers the impact learning an instrument has on learning in so many areas.
AIS also has a band/ orchestra that is struck up from time to time as an After School Activity.

Concerts

We are privileged to have students at AIS who are musically inclined and are willing to share their talents with the rest of the school community. Our school provides many opportunities for students to showcase their skills. There are Winter and Summer concerts highlighting learning in the music room. During the winter concerts, the concert will have a seasonal theme with lots of singing, playing and even some special effects. The Middle School Students will also perform a piece on instruments, using all their talents. What's for sure is that they all bring smiles to the audience's faces.
Students who wish to perform in a relaxed and casual setting are invited to join the Informal Concerts. The concert allows students to showcase their instrumental or vocal talents. Family and friends are welcomed to attend the Informal Concerts to be mesmerized by our school's talent.

Art Exibitions

Our talented student artists develop artworks which demonstrate their learning. Students use the knowledge and skills that they have learned, and demonstrate their understanding by presenting their own masterpieces.  The pieces of art are displayed in an Art Exhibition for others to enjoy.
