Graduation, like many other moments of transition in our lives, brings about a mixture of happy and sad feelings: excitement and anticipation about moving on and feelings of regret and loss about the life we are leaving behind. I felt that this year's ceremony was a good send off for a wonderful group of students and I wish them all the best in their next schools.
This is the recruitment season at ISK. It's a busy time of advertising, application checking, interviews, references and tough choices! But I do enjoy it and I feel that each year we are getting better at it. We have a fantastic team at ISK and a number of new staff have commented that we must be doing things right in our recruitment processes. I also enjoy the process very much, which may help. The feeling of offering someone a job that you know they would like is a bit like being Santa. On the other hand, the feeling of letting someone down is less enjoyable. (Got to take the rough with the smooth, I guess.)
